Sunday, the UFC returns to Arizona. Though, really, does time matter on the Internet? You might stumble upon this years from now, maybe on a random Tuesday in 2026. You’ll be looking at something 9 years old, at least. This is history to you yet to me? It is referencing the future. But there’s no guarantee of a future, is there?

Not just my future, which with my history of drinking and drug abuse is tenuous at best, but everyone’s. A mega asteroid could hit tomorrow. Actually, I don’t think that’s possible. I think if an asteroid was big enough to kill us all was coming at the Earth (is earth capitalized? Earth? earth? I don’t know.), we’d know it in advance. OK. Let’s go with random nuclear war breaking out. Rogue elements who belong to a suicide cult living both in America and Russia have been integrating themselves into key positions and decide to fire all the missiles on earth everywhere. Boom! Death to all.

In that case, we only have the now. Yesterday is gone and serves only to guide and haunt; tomorrow is three feet of human flesh turned ash covering the earth; today, this moment as I write this instead of doing actual real-world work, is all I have.

OK, but on Sunday we have fighting! And there will be a Sunday because the odds are I won’t live to see the end of the world. (Though when I die, it’s all the same to me, I suppose.)
