Khabib Nurmagomedov is a pretty good fighter, in case you haven’t heard. He’s also been trained by his dad (in addition to his time at AKA) since birth. His dad seems like a bad-ass and has trained many other badasses.
One of the ways that Daddy Nurmagomedov trained Khabib was by having him wrestle bears. BEARS.
Going into the biggest fight of his life, the undefeated Khabib probably would’ve preferred his dad be by his side. That won’t happen. The Guardian, a newspaper in England and one I think is respected, reports that Mr. Nurmagomedov was denied a travel VISA and will not be able to enter the United States.
Khabib and his family are all devout Muslims, with the 24-0 fighter taking a month off every year from training just to focus on Ramadan. President Trump recently tried to impose a temporary ban on travel from 7 predominantly Muslim countries. Khabib’s home of Dagestan is not on that list, so this appears to be something specific to his father.
The Guardian noted:
This is not the first time an MMA fighter has been caught up in visa issues. Nurmagomedov’s cousin Magomedrasul ‘Frodo’ Khasbulaev has also been denied a visa while lightweight fighter Mairbek Taisumov, a Chechen-Russian, was turned down under the Obama administration.
So, I guess his dad is a terrorist.
