Ronda Rousey, who is a little known female fighter, just got the break of a lifetime as she will be starring in a remake of the 1980s classic film, ROAD HOUSE!
The original Road House has the following as a description, according to Google, and the internet is never wrong (though why anyone would get a ROAD HOUSE description wrong is beyond me):
The Double Deuce is the meanest, loudest and rowdiest bar south of the Mason-Dixon Line, and Dalton (Patrick Swayze) has been hired to clean it up. He might not look like much, but the Ph.D.-educated bouncer proves he’s more than capable — busting the heads of troublemakers and turning the roadhouse into a jumping hot-spot. But Dalton’s romance with the gorgeous Dr. Clay (Kelly Lynch) puts him on the bad side of cutthroat local big shot Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara).
She will be Dalton. So, yeah, she’s playing a man. No word on if the character will be re-written to account for the fact that Rousey is, in fact, a female. It’s possible she’ll be taking on the role by playing Swayze playing Dalton, making this a truly ground breaking performance. Or, they’ll just have it be a 135 lb woman as a bouncer at a bar and expect it to be believable. This continues the trend of movies that Honda Housey will star in as she’s currently on tap to film Mile 22, a Peter Berg directed CIA thriller that will co-star Mark Wahlberg in what is an attempt to guarantee that Rousey is the least douchey person on screen at all times. She’s also set to star in “Beating Up Holly Holm” later this year.
And that porn where we all pretend it isn’t really her but deep down we know Rousey is incapable of turning down any role offered and likes to try new things. And that she makes bad choices when it comes to anything involving relationships. No word on when this thing will start shooting, who else will be in it (there might be but I’m not looking it up), when it will be released, or when Rousey attempts to officially jump a shark.
