Paige VanZant vs Joanna Calderwood will headling UFC Something Something Night 80 on December 10th as part of the company’s desire to create an uber weekend of fun, in Vegas, in December. There’s gotta be a way to expense this to … fuck, I’M the boss! This thrilling affiar will be taking place at The Cosmopolitan. This proves to me that despite the UFC’s recent embrace of feminism that the company is still inherently sexist – of course women headline Cosmo. Sigh.
PVZ is young and good and young and ranked in the top 10 and young. Calderwood is also a top ten women’s strawweight and has long been on a short list to challenge for the championship of the world. She’s also probably young. She’s cute in her way. Frankly, I think she’s cuter because she seems genuine. VanZant has been liked by everyone her entire life and thinks puppies shit rainbows.
The show already has some decent fights, as Jim Miller vs. Michael Chiesa was also recently announced, along with the other bouts of men that are listed below. UFC 2323902 will air on Fight Pass, then followed by a PPV, then that is followed by a show on FS1. You will not be able to escape the UFC, no matter where you turn. (That might not be the order, actually but you get the point.)
This also means VanZant has signed a new deal with the UFC as the talk (on twitter) that she wanted a new contract before committing to another fight. I mean, I know you want job security by you’d have more leverage if you waited and won because then you could be all, “Bellator wants me and so do some Asian businessmen.” Oh well, her life.
